- Journal: Write for 2o minutes on one of the following questions: How might we read the prophesy of Oedipus's life as a riddle or metaphor? How might he fulfill the prophesy without literally marrying his mother and murdering his father? Just as morning, noon and night and 4 feet, 2 feet and 3 feet became metaphors in the riddle of the sphinx, what might marriage, murder, mother and father signify? Do make specific reference to something in the play. HINT: Think about the story of Leda and the Swan where Zeus changes himself into a beautiful swan to seduce Leda, a human. Do we transform ourselves into someone or something else to make relationships work at times?

- Begin work on your Oedipus Paper. Start a document that you can bring an electronic copy of to and from school. We'll have iBooks tomorrow with time to work in class. In the document, type out your topic, question, element of structure or theme. Find your evidence and type in several quotations with page numbers to get you started.
- Write two pages of your Oedipus Paper. Bring these into class in electronic form for writing conferences and work time with iBooks.
